Nihonbashi-bijin Candy Sakura (cherry blossoms)

Eitaro Sohonpo will mark the 150th anniversary of its foundation next year. To commemorate the event, the company developed a new product called Nihonbashi-bijin Candy Sakura.

“We had a difficult time using both the brand name of Eitaro Candy and the concept of Nihonbashi-bijin that is consistent with the theme “Be beautiful in mind and body.” We appreciate that women can naturally show their inner beauty when they eat candy,” said Ms. Miki Oba, who was involved in the development of this product. She belongs to the Nihonbashi-bijin OL Club and has aggressively informed the opinions of the club members for a year.

One of the difficulties when the workers make the candy is to create the mellow pink coloring because too much heating changes the color into orange. The candy contains not only citric acid, which is essential for relieving fatigue and enhancing stamina, but also as much vitamin C as in a lemon. So, the candy serves as a skin conditioner, antioxidant, refreshment, and to relieve stress. Eitaro Candy uses pure, good quality sugar instead of starch syrup.

The new Nihonbashi-bijin Candy Sakura was launched by Eitaro Sohonpo, which pursues innovation while keeping up a tradition, in October.
